How to ask the right question.

Updated: Aug 19, 2023

So you've decided it's about time you took some advice from a tarot/oracle card/psychic reader. But how do you make sure you get the best result rather than an ambiguous generalisation that could relate to anyone? This is why I do my card readings via messenger, so I can help them get the best possible answer to their questions. Ones that give them a way forward rather than something like "yes you will get back with...."

Crafting effective and meaningful questions for your tarot reader is crucial to receive insightful and relevant answers. Here are some tips to help you ask questions that lead to the best possible interpretations:

  1. Be Specific: Frame your question with clarity. Vague questions can lead to ambiguous answers. For example, instead of asking "Will my career improve?" ask "What steps can I take to enhance my career prospects?"

  2. Focus on Yourself: Keep the focus on your actions, thoughts, and feelings rather than trying to predict the actions of others. This empowers you to make choices based on your own circumstances.

  3. Open-Ended Questions: Ask questions that encourage detailed responses. Instead of asking "Will I find love?" consider asking "What can I do to attract a loving relationship?"

  4. Avoid Yes/No Questions: Yes/no questions limit the depth of interpretation. Instead, ask questions that provide context and insights. For instance, instead of "Will I travel this year?" ask "What opportunities for travel are likely to arise for me this year?"

  5. Empowerment Over Prediction: Focus on questions that empower you to make informed decisions rather than seeking absolute predictions. For example, ask "What can I learn from this situation?" instead of "What will happen next?"

  6. Explore Different Angles: If you're unsure about a situation, you can ask the tarot to provide insights from different angles. For example, ask "What are the potential outcomes of this decision?"

  7. One at a Time: Address one question at a time to ensure clarity and a comprehensive response. Complex or multi-part questions can lead to confusion.

  8. Open-Mindedness: Approach the reading with an open mind. Tarot readings offer guidance and perspectives, but the future is influenced by various factors, including personal choices.

  9. Reflect on Your Question: Before finalizing your question, take a moment to reflect on its importance and whether it truly aligns with your concerns or goals.

  10. Trust the Process: Tarot readers interpret the cards based on symbolism, intuition, and their understanding of the tarot system. Trust their expertise and interpretation.

  11. Focus on Personal Growth: If you're seeking guidance, consider questions that focus on your personal growth and development. These questions often lead to valuable insights.

  12. Avoid Limiting Phrases: Try to avoid phrases like "should I," "will I," or "am I." Instead, phrase questions as opportunities for guidance and insight.

Remember that tarot readings are tools for self-reflection, personal growth, and gaining insights. Approach the process with an open heart, be receptive to the messages the cards convey, and use the guidance to make informed choices in your life journey.
